"For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, [are called]: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, [yea], and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence." 1 Corinthians 1:25-29 (KJV)

TRUSTING GOD (Proverbs 3:5-7) (KJV)

"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil." ~ Proverbs 3:5-7 (KJV)

Trusting in the LORD is feeling safe and secure or carefree and fearless in complete confidence within our conscious thought, including our reflection and memory and within our spirit, inner man or entire heart IN GOD. This means we must sacrifice our own understanding, intelligence and insight and not lean on, rest on, or be supported by them when we trust IN GOD. For some of us this will prove to be a very hard thing.

Our academic qualifications and the totality of our life experiences hinder us in that they have made us severely independent. BUT the scripture says none of us are to be independent of God. We are to acknowledge HIM in our manner, habit, way and course of life; in fact, we are to acknowledge HIM, intimately know HIM, or, become thoroughly acquainted with HIM in all things pertaining to our existence. In doing this, the scripture says, HE will direct or straighten out everything pertaining to our path or way of living. This is an indelible promise of God that cannot be overruled.

We are further urged to be not wise, that is, intelligent, sagacious, shrewd, subtle, wily or crafty, in our own eyes, sight or conceit. Instead, we are to fear or revere God and depart or turn away from evil or wicked wickedness. Yes I said wicked wickedness because thats what evil is according to this scripture!

I could preach a sermon on this scripture...lol...but I'll save it for another post. Be Blessed.
